West Bengal Leader of Opposition Suven Adhikari on Thursday called upon the Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi. A photo of the meeting has surfaced where both the BJP leaders are sitting and talking. The details of this meeting were not immediately available but the visit of the Bengal BJP leader comes during a time when several reports of violence are coming up in the state.
Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday alleged that the police are “victimizing the victim” in their investigation into the alleged assault on a female minority morcha worker, saying the officers are “protecting the perpetrators”. He once again demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter.
On June 25, the BJP had alleged that the party’s minority morcha woman leader was beaten up, stripped, and dragged by her hair by TMC miscreants in Cooch Behar district. Apart from this, lynching reports have come up from various other places like Chopra, Ariadaha, etc.
